Itineraries
Day 1 - Arrival in Ahmedabad
Upon arrival in Ahmedabad, the largest city of Gujarat, proceed towards the hotel. After completing the check-in formalities, take some rest in your room, Visit to Akshardham Temple (closed on Monday) Temple and local sighseeing. After this spiritual visit, return to the hotel in Ahmedabad for an overnight stay.
Day 2 - Drive to Somnath (400 km)
Soon after breakfast, embark on a road journey to Somnath to pay reverence to Lord Shiva.
The main shrine here is the Somnath Mahadev Temple. The present temple, constructed in 1951, is the seventh reconstruction of the original shrine. In the past, its riches attracted many invaders, who looted the temple and left it destructed. However, each time the temple was restored to its original glory by Hindu devotees After paying homage to the Mahadev, head towards Triveni Sangam, Geeta mandir, Bhalka Tirth – the famous Lord Krishna temple. It is supposed to be the site where the lord is said to have been mistakenly shot an arrow in the foot by a poacher named Jara. Lord Krishna was resting under a peepal tree, when the poacher misread him as a deer and hit from a distance. Realising his mistake, the poacher asked for pardon. The lord generously pardoned and blessed him. Later,In the evening attend the aarti,and later watch light sound show, spend the night at the hotel near Veraval.
Day 3 - Somanth - Dwarka ( 230 km)
Start your day with the holy morning aarti at Somnath Mahadev Temple. Thereafter, drive to Dwarka – the city of Lord Krishna.On reaching Devbhoomi Dwarka, check-in at the hotel and rest for a while before proceeding to the venerated Dwarkadish Temple. Also known as Jagat Mandir, the Dwarkadhish Temple is dedicated to Lord Krishna, who is worshipped here by the name Dwarkadhish or the 'King of Dwarka'. The shrine is a five-storey building standing at a height of 170 feet, supported by around 72 magnificent pillars. Tradition has it that Krishna's original home was just few kilometres from the mainland Dwarka. This deep belief attracts thousands of pilgrims from different parts of the country to this place. After this visit, return to the hotel and stay overnight.
Day 4 -Dwarka
The day is reserved for visiting the various religious places of the Dwarka city. Commence your day by attending the morning aarti at Dwarkadhish Temple. Later, head towards the Beyt Dwarka – a small island, located at the mouth of the Gulf of Kachchh. Locally known as Beyt Shankhodhar, it is revered as the original abode of Lord Krishna. It offers great opportunities to spot dolphins, and for camping, marine excursions and picnicking.
Next, visit the Nageshwar Jyotirling – one of the 12 jyotirlingas mentioned in the Shiva Purana. Situated on the route between Beyt Dwarka and Dwarka city on the Saurashtra coast, this Lord Shiva temple is among the most frequented pilgrimages in the country. The temple complex is dominated by a 25 m tall statue of Lord Shiva in a sitting posture.Thereafter, pay your homage at the Rukmini Devi Temple, around 2 km from Dwarka's Jagat Mandir. This beautiful, old temple is dedicated to Goddess Rukmini – wife of Lord Krishna.Your Dwarka tour culminates with a visit to Gopi Talav – a lake where Lord Krishna as a child used to dance with gopis. After this eternal sojourn, come back to your hotel in Dwarka for an overnight stay.
Day 5 - Dwarka - Ahmedabad (457 km)
Today, after breakfast, pack your bags to return to Ahmedabad.After a tiresome journey, enjoy a relaxing overnight stay in the hotel in Ahmedabad.
Day 6 - Departure from Ahmedabad
